So after a long long time, I am back. For anyone who may follow my blog I truly am sorry. I am planning on doing a past 4 months update sometime within the next week or so. Right now I am in the San Diego airport headed to Mexico to go and hang with a pretty amazing crew for the new magazine What Youth. Pretty rad what they have planned and I am so honored to get to work with them. I am planning on doing an update while I am down there so stay tuned!

So I have decided that I am going to start doing some gear reviews based on what I am using at the time. First up will be this little puppy, a Fuji x-100. I will be shooting some Christmas photos and doing my review of the camera early this next week. Stay tuned!

After spending about 6 weeks or so on the North Shore I am finally going home back to California. Finally home for a while, so stoked…..

So I just got home late on Thanksgiving after spending two weeks in Hawaii working with the team over at Reef. The trip was great. A ton of work though. We worked on current and future ad campaigns, catalogs, I shot some action as well as scouted for an upcoming trip to Hawaii sometime next year. The trip was lack luster for waves but made up with spending sometime with Rob Machado. One after noon we took a drive over to Rob’s aunts house where he lead me to the side of the house. I looked under and there was about 75 boards. All shapes, sizes, and eras. What I found most interesting was this old board bag he yanked out from under the house, which proceeded to drag to the front yard and un-zip. 5 brand new hand shaped Al Merrick’s from 2007 were nested tightly in the weathered board bag. He said, ” I have been saving these for a rainy day.” Pretty awesome what sometimes comes from the unexpected. Here is Rob looking over some boards in Hawaii.

Just saw that I landed the Swell Holiday 2011 catalog cover. Pretty excited. Thanks to the guys over at A-Frame photo for pushing this thing and making it happen!
Thanks guys!

Here are some images that were shot for the Transworld Surf Imaginarium photo contest. I ended up winning best photography. Here are a handful of images that I thought were cool. I will be posting images on my new site when the redesign is done.

So back in September I did a last minute trip to Tahiti. The trip was associated with Transworld Surf magazines Imaginarium contest. The contest is about pushing surf photography with no boundaries. My team I worked with was the Reef team consisting of Rob Machado, Ben Bourgeois, Sean Moody and Jay Thompson. I also was in charge of the creative direction, director of photography, editing helper, and photographer. My concept was the progression of surfing from below. So basically if a reef had eyes. The surfers rode everything from bonzers, thrusters, quads, single fins and more. Well, we ended up winning best photography and coming in second overall. I was super stoked and was honored that people liked what we did. Along with winning best photography has come a couple online features. I really liked this feature that Inventory magazine did on our trip. Here is the link:

I was lucky enough to be featured on the Parisian based website sixand5. It is a an online magazine about trends in art, fashion and urban cultures. Thanks again for featuring my work. Can’t wait til you guys can see what other rad stuff I have been shooting when I update my site! Thx again!
